Thanks for the ping
Thank you for letting me know about the discussion. Unfortunately right now a family member is very ill and I am going to leave it to the community to decide that one. I don't think that Mr. Trung is really here for educational purposes, nor is that barnstar particularly educational, but faced with the mortality of a close member of my family, I just don't have the time or energy to fight for anything - even against a serial troublemaker. Thank you for the defense, sorry I left you to do that for me. Ellin Beltz (talk) 18:34, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Ellin Beltz: take care, other things are much more important that trolling people on the interwebs. I restored your decision at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Hot sex barnstar.png by deleting the file. Multichill (talk) 22:19, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Mysterymanblue: , thanks for informing me about this in your e-mail. Regarding "I don't think that Mr. Trung is really here for educational purposes" and "- even against a serial troublemaker" what is that supposed to mean? What "series of troubles" did I cause here recently then? This just seems like an excuse to insult me. I am beginning to understand why Fæ left the project after receiving similar insults. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 10:07, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
Civility
Regardless of the correctness of your administrative action, your comment here in which you call a fellow administrator "stupid" and fail to assume good faith in "trolling" users who happen to disagree with you is highly inappropriate. Mysterymanblue 00:20, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

License migration
Hi Multichill! How are you doing?
If I remember correct you promised me more than 10 years ago that I would get a million barnstars if I finished the license migration of GFDL!
Well its finished yet but I'm getting closer.
I have been visiting wikis around the world trying to make them clean up files. As you can imagine it is a never ending job because if local wikis do not have active users that monitor new uploads it will soon be messy.
But I have been implementing the license migration templates on some wikis that did not have it. And I have been helping wikis finish the license migration.
On Japanese Wikipedia it was extra fun because they had 64k files licensed GFDL. 37k had GFDL and 27k had GFDL-no-disclaimers. But to make it crazy they had a fancy system where some of the files with GFDL had disclaimers and some did not. So many of the files that was moved to Commons did not have the disclaimers they should have or they had disclaimers but should not. Also the license migration system was very complex. But I managed to change the templates so files without disclaimers used the template GFDL and files with disclaimers used the template GFDL-ja. I also completed the license migration.
On a few wikis GFDL-ja means GFDL-self but on Commons that would be "files from Japanese Wikipedia with disclaimers". So I fixed FileImporter to do it right.
Recently I have been touring wikis to see if GFDL only were listed on MediaWiki:Licenses. It was on about 54 wikis and I managed to get 36 wikis to remove it and 18 have not (yet). (m:User:MGA73/Media per wiki)
And check this out en:Template:No more GFDL :-) That should help too.
So now I think there is a chance to finish in 2022!
But now I also know that if I had done this more systematic from the beginning it would have been so much easier. Much of the trouble and work could have been avoided.
For example MediaWiki:Licenses and template names should have been fixed. Some wikis still use GFDL with disclaimers for new uploads! That should have been stopped years ago. And we should have global bots that tag all new uploads that do not have a license.
Anyway just wanted to share the news with you. If you have any ideas they are of course welcome. --MGA73 (talk) 18:01, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Question: What if someone gave a permission via OTRS in 2007 for the license GFDL. Do you remember if we relicense because it is before November 2008 or did we always say that if there is an OTRS then migration is not possible? --MGA73 (talk) 11:22, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- @MGA73: I'm traveling (now that it's still possible). Will reply later. Multichill (talk) 12:13, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

- I asked someone else about OTRS and the reply was that we can probably relicense. Do you agree? --MGA73 (talk) 12:34, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
- I checked some of the old files with an OTRS and my bot marked them with migration=relicense so I guess we agreed that OTRS does not block for relicense. We just have to be carefull to see if the file was originally uploaded somewhere else. So I will relicense the files with an OTRS too. --MGA73 (talk) 10:32, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
Invitation to submit a session proposal to WikidataCon 2021 (deadline 20 October)
Hi. I'm writing to you as a co-curator of the 'Sister projects' track along with Susanna Ånäs for WikidataCon 2021, which will take place online on 29-31 October 2021. The conference website is at [1].
We would like to invite you to submit a session proposal to the track, specifically a lightning talk on how you have been working with SDC here on Commons. We would also love to hear about any other work you are doing, or would like to do in the future, that relates to Wikidata and its sister projects.
If you are interested, you can find information about how to submit a session proposal at [2], and you can access the submission form at [3]. Please submit a session proposal through the Pretalx process so that we can review and schedule it appropriately - and make sure to mark it as a 'Sister projects' track proposal. Please note that we cannot accept a session outside of the Pretalx process. We also encourage you to submit talks to other tracks if you are interested!
Note that the deadline for submitting proposals is the 20th October - sorry for the short notice! Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 14:33, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi Multichill, I changed the coordinates from this photo because they were not quite correct. Now an error message appears. Could you please correct. I am not able to change structured data. And thanks again for the effort of adding them all the time. Regards --Olga Ernst (talk) 11:01, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
