Re:File renames
Hello Multichill. I don't agree: File:Nicolas Poussin 031.jpg is just the name of the author and a number. File:Nicolas Poussin - Et in Arcadia ego (première version).jpg includes the author's name, the work's title and the version. It's like the example File:Paris 319.jpg->File:Paris 75018 Rue Norvins no 018 Le Consulat z.jpg used in Commons:File_renaming#reasons. Anyway, I won't rename further files until a consensus is reached; I'm waiting for a reply, then :)
By the way: happy new year, man--Formica rufa 19:14, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

File:Universalhobbiesrenaultscenic.JPG has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

IGESPAR
Hi! About this — you’re of course right, as the template should be visible also when used in individual file pages. But I’d say that any use of this template (and of others akin to it) in an individual file page is a sure sign of sloppy curation, acceptable only if temporary:
- If it’s used on a file page that is already categorized with the category about the moument in question, then the template should be removed from the file page (following the same principle as COM:OVERCAT).
- If it’s used on a file page that is not yet categorized with the category about the moument, and such category exists, then the file page should categorized and the template should be removed.
- If it’s used on a file page that is not yet categorized with the category about the moument, and such category does not exist, then it should be created and include the template, which then in turn should be removed from the file page.
In short, all monuments should have their own category, and this template should be used threon (and therefore not in filepages categorized in that category). I suppose you agree with this principle, as I agree that this template tagging and untagging should be made manually: You’re right that the template has no business sniffing the namespace it’s in and hide itself when it’s used on a file page, wrong as it is to use it on a file page. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 21:10, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- To address your points: Those templates are made to be put on file pages and to stay there. Removing them makes it harder for the user to find the information. {{IGESPAR}} shouldn't be adding all these categories, these catgories should be added directly, not using a template. See {{Rijksmonument}} for an example how it should be.
- Quick fix would probably to break it into two parts: the long lists of categories only if the template is used on a category and the tracker cat on both images and categories. That would reduce the clutter a lot.
- Long term solution would be to add the by name categories directly and remove the categorization logic from the template. Multichill (talk) 21:28, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello! Your bot has been listed at Commons:Bots/Requests/de-flag 4 as being inactive for over two years. As a housekeeping measure we'd like to remove the bot flag from inactive bot accounts, unless you expect the bot will be operated again in the near future. If you consent to the removal of the bot flag (or do not reply on the deflag page) you can rerequest the bot flag at Commons:Bots/Requests should you need it again.
