iTerm2/Frotz
Hi there, I do apologise - I left a message a few a minutes ago without signing in. (I'm new to Wikipedia Commons). I'm not sure at the moment if that's a problem - but if I may reiterate my message: the file showing iTerm2 running Frotz - the color scheme, is it something particular? It looks very nice, I would like to configure my terminal to have that scheme as an option. A small matter, I know...

Monument template on cs.wiki
Hello, there were changes in parameter names for template Památky v Česku a little while ago. The changes were:
Zeměpisná_šířka
→zeměpisná šířka
Zeměpisná_délka
→zeměpisná délka
Could you please update it in your bot? Thank you. --Reaperman (talk) 23:40, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Hi Multichill. The file(s) above you uploaded are listed in Category:Language templates with no text displayed. Could you please fix the syntax errors? Thank you. Leyo 14:13, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
- @Leyo: Didn't you check the history? Thank you for your suggestion! When you feel a media or gallery needs improvement, please feel free to make those changes. Wikimedia Commons is a wiki, so anyone can edit almost any media and gallery by simply following the Edit link at the top. You don't even need to log in (although there are many reasons why you might want to). Don't worry too much about making honest mistakes — they're likely to be found and corrected quickly. If you're not sure how editing works, check out how to edit a page, or use the sandbox to try out your editing skills. New contributors are always welcome.. Multichill (talk) 15:27, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
- This was one of the automated notifications to all uploaders of files in the mentioned maintenance category. To answer your question: No. --Leyo 16:10, 5 December 2013 (UTC) PS. It is not a trivial fix.
false positive missing commonscat?
Hi Multichill, can you please have a look at your de:Benutzer:ErfgoedBot/Denkmal_Österreich_missing_commons_category_links, it is useful, but I do not unterstand the entry for ObjectID 94194 (in de:Liste der denkmalgeschützten Objekte in Würflach). It looks like as your parser is falling through all the table line entries and stops only at the Commonscat-template at the end? thanks --Herzi Pinki (talk) 13:30, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

New Template for OpenBeelden
Hi Multichill,
I've been looking at your script for uploading OpenBeelden videos to Wikimedia Commons. I got your script working with the new version of the OpenBeelden-API, and now I am looking for a better metadata-map than Template:Information.
I've made a first attempt to map the two metadata formats here, could you have a look if I did it correctly?

Getting permission for loading commercial artwork in to WikiCommons
I see you were responsible for loading File:Ruger-New-Bearcat.jpg into WikiCommons with OTRS permission ticket 2012121010010568. This is great. My question is: How did you go about obtaining the permission from Ruger? Did you request it, or was it volunteered? I would like to facilitate loading some other commercial graphics into WikiCommons if the license holder will allow it. I just don't know how to go about arranging it. File:Trail of Death Bronze Tippicanoe SHS.JPG has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Pywikipedia - create_categories.py
Hi,
I downloaded pywikipediabot and i founded in its folders your script create_categories.py. I have to mass create categories on rowiki (few hundreds).
I tried this code, but it doesn't work properly.
Code |
---|
# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-
"""
Program to batch create categories.
The program expects a generator containing a list of page titles to be used as
base.
The following command line parameters are supported:
-always (not implemented yet) Don't ask, just do the edit.
-overwrite (not implemented yet).
-parent The name of the parent category.
-basename The base to be used for the new category names.
Example:
create_categories.py
-lang:commons
-family:commons
-links:User:Multichill/Wallonia
-parent:"Cultural heritage monuments in Wallonia"
-basename:"Cultural heritage monuments in"

File tagging File:Paul Conrad, Chain Reaction.JPG
This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Paul Conrad, Chain Reaction.JPG. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Paul Conrad, Chain Reaction.JPG]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

New Wikipedia user - Questions about image uploads
Greetings Multichill! I am a new Wikpedia contributor with my first page Bohemian and am trying to successfully upload an image File:BohemianGroupConcertPhoto.jpg for the page. (I may have accidently also uploaded it on the Commons) But I am not understanding the license requirements. In summary, this is a photograph taken of the group Bohemian, by one of the group members, Park Sang Woo, and he has emailed me permission to use it on Wikipedia and permission for it to be moved to the Public Domain and free for anyone to use. To my knowledge, he does not have a Copyright license for it. I am waiting for approval from Wikipedia on this 2nd attempt to get it posted. But I believe I am missing something. Can you please advise me? --Bonnielou2013 (talk) 17:53, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
