Probleem parent category=subcategory.
--Havang(nl) (talk) 09:49, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Mike Peel: . Switching to English. Category:Inscriptions on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile is full of clutter. First category is Category:Jean Charles Abbatucci. The {{Wikidata Infobox}} makes that Category:Jean Charles Abbatucci ends up in Category:Inscriptions on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. I don't think that's intentional. Can you have a look? Multichill (talk) 10:17, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- It's being added because Jean Charles Abbatucci (Q727261) has award received (P166)=names inscribed under the Arc de Triomphe (Q1313340), which in turn has category for recipients of this award (P2517)=Category:Names inscribed under the Arc de Triomphe (Q9557338), with a commons sitelink of Category:Inscriptions on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. That's the normal route that's followed by the infobox to add awards categories, so you'd need to change some part of that for the infobox to stop adding this category. Hope that helps. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 13:19, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Is it possible to change in names inscribed under the Arc de Triomphe (Q1313340) the award winners item Names inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile into People inscribed on the arc the triomphe and then study how to avoid that bad commons sidelink ? --Havang(nl) (talk) 17:23, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- I've created Category:People inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile and Category:People inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile (Q66442436), and moved the subcategories there, does that make sense? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 20:34, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- I think that the problem is solved now, I removed the cross-linking categorie and the line « See also: Category:inscriptions on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile» and a corresponding line in this category. I go check if this works. Thanks--Havang(nl) (talk) 16:24, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
- There is a substantial reduction of number of cross-linked files between those persons and war memorials in France https://petscan.wmflabs.org/?psid=10580568, so that's a good improvement. --Havang(nl) (talk) 16:39, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

- Another anomaly comes from Category:Place Charles-de-Gaulle (Paris) having as parent categories les avenues attenantes portant le nom d'un général qui est dans la Category:People inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile , notamment Avenue Kléber (Paris). But this is a lesser problem.--Havang(nl) (talk) 18:38, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Monuments 2019
- Fijne avond, Multichill (talk) 20:20, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Multichill (talk) 08:25, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

Cross-checking monument IDs with Wikidata to add Commons sitelinks
I'm quickly re-running this for my usual set of Commons templates vs. Wikidata IDs, e.g. [9], to catch any that have changed over the last few months. The IDs I've checked are:
- National Heritage List for England number (P1216) = {{Listed building England}} ID
- Rijksmonument ID (P359) = {{Rijksmonument}} ID
- NRHP reference number (P649) = {{NRHP}} ID
- Mérimée ID (P380) = {{Mérimée}} ID
- WDPA ID (P809) = {{WDPA}} ID
- Kulturminne ID (P758) = {{Monument Norge}} ID
- ASI Monument ID (P1371) = {{ASI Monument}} ID
Are there any others it would be useful for me to run through? I'm minimising my monument-related edits now ahead of WLM, although I would have liked to have pushed for the adoption of {{MonumentID}} (e.g., see File:At Paraty, Brazil 2017 107.jpg) more than I had the time to do. :-) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:00, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Mike Peel: the list is probably much longer than that I think, see also Category:Cultural heritage monuments with known IDs. One I recently created is Rijksmonument complex ID (P7135) = {{Rijksmonumentcomplex}}. I would me careful with the start of WLM to not break anything. To me {{MonumentID}} looks like a bad approach. Why introduce some new template when you can just pull it from the structured data using LUA? With LUA access to the local data, we can just go over the depicts statements and use some logic to display whatever template we like without changing the wikitext. Multichill (talk) 10:41, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
- OK, let me know if there are any particular ones it would be useful to run through. My plan with {{MonumentID}} is to connect that with Depicts statements once they become available, then we no longer need the locally defined QIDs. It's better to link to the Wikidata item (with a hopefully easy migration plan for the future) rather than storing more data in templates here. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 10:45, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
- BTW, MonumentID is a spin-off of the {{Wikidata Infobox}} code, which is quite well tested nowadays. I wouldn't call it "barely a prototype" as you have done below. Mike Peel (talk) 13:35, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
Template ID
Hi Multichill, You have more insight in this matter, please have a look to this change. I suspect in it is not ready? Thanks! Romaine (talk) 12:10, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Romaine: , see previous topic, {{MonumentID}} is barely a prototype and shouldn't be used anywhere in this state, let alone in a big photo competition that is starting in less than 24 hours. Multichill (talk) 12:13, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
- In the monument lists (like w:pt:Wikipédia:Wiki Loves Monuments 2019/Portugal/Lista/Lisboa) there are now different IDs then before. Changing back to Template:WLM-PT will break it too, as the old monument IDs are mixed with Wikidata IDs. Romaine (talk) 12:30, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
