File:US Navy 110928-N-IC287-002 The littoral combat ship Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Fort Worth (LCS 3) transits through the Menekaunee Bridge in Green.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

- @Denniss: I have questioned this with the deleting admin. Please consider a DR for future cases like this, where the photograph remains available on a Federal or DoD agent site with a correct release statement. Even though this photograph may not be Navy, there is still a release statement and no evidence of any action to take down the photograph from source sites. --Fæ (talk) 08:56, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

Monuments API
Hi Multichill,
I saw you are one of the authors of the Monuments Database Api. I wondered is it still maintained? I am developing an app as tool for the coming Wiki Loves Monuments and search on coordinates. The api gives me monuments in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and more. But not from Germany.
In case your are curious about the app.
John Boers (talk) 11:50, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
- @JohnBoers: yes, it is maintained, but I'm no longer the main person doing that. See Commons:Monuments database for more documentation about the database. Germany is complicated. Germany has many different systems and it's a bit messy. If you are building something new you might want to consider using Wikidata as a backend. We're slowly moving everything from the Monuments database to Wikidata. Multichill (talk) 16:48, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, i will look at Wikidata. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnBoers (talk • contribs) 19:47, 23 August 2017 (UTC) John Boers (talk) 19:47, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
Spaces at the start of sort keys generated by {{Geograph}}
Long ago, you changed the sort keys generated by {{Geograph}} to be padded on the left with zeroes. At the same time you added a space character to the start of the sort key. I've started a discussion over on Template talk:Geograph suggesting the removal of that space. Your input would probably be helpful. --bjh21 (talk) 13:47, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
